We utilize microorganisms, particularly bacteria, as hosts for the production of industrially valuable compounds. Also, to support such microbial production, we develop a range of genetic engineering tools. Compounds successfully produced to date include 2,3-butanediol, active vitamin D3, isobutanol, pyruvate, succinic acid, acetoin, and various isoprenoids.
