Climate change and global warming are among the most pressing challenges facing the world today. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) are released into the atmosphere through industrial activities and wastewater treatment processes. Effectively capturing and reusing these carbon-based gases has become a major focus in the pursuit of a sustainable future. In our research group, we focus on microorganisms capable of utilizing greenhouse gases. Through the discovery, cultivation, and functional characterization of novel microbes, we aim to develop carbon-neutral environmental technologies that contribute to building a more sustainable society.
